This month we are talking book cover mock-ups!
Mock-ups are an easy way to get your content to stand out with a 3D book, rather than just a 2D cover image. Not every post or reel will need a mock-up, some are best with a flat image, but when needed they really do increase your visual aesthetic.
So, how do you make one?
You need to choose a mock-up provider; Canva, DIY Book Covers, and Book Brush are popular ones, and all have FREE accounts, with some also having a paid version.
Choose which mock-up option you want - there are digital and physical options, and sometimes there are even composite options which will include several different fomats (e.g., phone, tablet, paperback).
Upload the cover you want made into a 3D mock-up - you can download or take a screenshot for this, just be sure you only have the cover, not anything around it.
Choose which format to download - I almost always choose PNG, which will download the mock-up with a transparent background so you can place it onto a background or edit it onto an image, but you could also choose a JPG, which will give you a plain opaque background.
Do you use mock-ups? If not, will you be trying them now?
